Used for three week overseas trip to Australia March 11, 2010 D. Foster (Byron, IL) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This worked great was able to use my hair iron and all my small appliances. Never a problem and my appliance are no worse for wear. I have had other adapters that killed my appliances which died after I returned home. this worked great but it is heavy and will add some weight ot your luggage. Other than that itis a good but. You do need plug adapters if going to place such as australia it only has the one european plug.
Good price February 23, 2010 P. Busch 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
This product was just what I needed to power a slightly heavy duty battery charger for an electric drill. It isn't capable of stepping down a great deal of amperage but it was enough for the 200 watts, 120V charger.
Nice price too.
220V/110 Converter February 7, 2010 Donald A. Bradley 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
The Simran converter was used to supply my wife's hair flattener in the Philippines,(40W 110V). The plug had to be changed to the standard 2 prong used in the US. Quick trip to the hardware store fixed that in the States. I plugged it in 110V here in the States to see if it would put out 60V as read on an AC DVM. All was OK. Arrival in the Philipens proved a success. The unit worked flawlessly. We left it there as we had no use for it here. The only problem we had was, we had to promise to bring back 5 more on our next trip !.

Decent transformer January 27, 2010 Markus N. Dressel (Pittsburgh) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
We purchased 5 of these for our move to Sweden 6 months ago and all are still working. Three are used on a continuous basis for clock radio/CD players while the other two are used occasionally for chargers and other things that aren't universal. The transformers get a little warm but not enough to be an issue. The devices we use on this transformer are only about 30 watts so I can't say how it will perform when you get closer to 200W. Just to be safe, I purchased transformers that were more than double of what I needed.
The only thing I don't like is the fact that the transformers aren't properly grounded even though there is a hole for grounded prong on the output. It would have been pretty simple to add proper grounding so it doesn't make sense to me that they didn't do it.
Overall, they do what they are supposed to do and were relatively inexpensive.
